When I first needed representation I looked around and saw Richard on google with a good 4/5 star review. I read his 5/5 and his 1/5 and thought that the 1/5 stars reviews were just upset at him because the case was lost, but in fact that’s not the reason why. He only seemed to care in the beginning when I first called about my case, showing interest and telling me that he can be the one to help me out. So I decided to give the benefit of the doubt, and hired him. As soon as I sent the money over, everything immediately changed. When I had questions about the case and texted him, he would leave me on delivered for days often leading me to have to double text him for a response. In those responses he did not seem to care and would make it seem like a “search it up/ask someone else” response. He never truly cared about representation which is very disappointing to me, he only cares about the money he can earn. Also he would show up late to my hearings often 10-30 minutes late, showing me that he really doesn’t care about what he’s doing in general. Maybe the 5/5 stars reviews are when he still cared about representation and had that hunger in him to be the best attorney, but in my opinion if you are reading this. Do not hire him, it is much better to go to someone else. I gave him the benefit of the doubt and he still failed. While in court when he was negotiating with the DA it seemed like he didn’t care to really push for a better plea deal. He just told me straight forward “thats the best I can do” and he may not be lying but it would be nice to see you try a little harder through that door when negotiating. As I explained to you, as I do with all of my clients, plea bargaining is only one option.  Jury trial is another.  It was your choice. It is my practice to go into great detail with every client on the benefits and risks of going to trial.   If I advised you to settle with a plea bargain rather than go to trial, it's because trial would have resulted in a more severe outcome. If it was not for Rick, I would’ve never discovered that I was eligible for a VET court which I had no idea existed. That Saved me the suspension of all fines totaling around $7000 and waived after my 18 month probation. Also, I would have missed my first day in court. When I discovered I missed my court date. I assumed there was a warrant for my arrest but Rick showed at my hearing which was fantastic because I was negligent by not reporting my change of contact information.I forgot but he did not. and this created extreme comfort knowing that my lawyer Rick is on top of it. He is extremely knowledgeable and knows his way around the courthouse that is for sure! He is very easy to get a hold of and always respond in a timely manner.
