It’s always great to get a good result, but an easy to overlook part of being an attorney is recognizing the importance of efficient resolution of a case. Navigating the court system can often be stressful and really disruptive to someone’s life. I always try my best to keep that in mind, which is why I pride myself on doing a ton of upfront work, investigation, and whatever else it takes to gain early momentum.
Of course, every case is different, so not every case is going to resolve quickly and favorably, but certainly it is a great outcome when that happens. So much can be out of our control once a case gets into court, but focusing on the things an attorney does have control over – like the quality of work they put in from day one – can go a long way and make a huge difference. And as you mention, clear communication and preparation are essential.
