I wanted to make sure my case was taken seriously and that I had the opportunity to fight it. When I called, I spoke with Alex, the legal assistant, who came across as completely rude and dismissive. I even had to ask if I could explain my situation since my arraignment was coming up so quickly.\n\nShe told me I would hear something once the lawyers spoke with other lawyers, but there was no reassurance, no compassion, and no guidance. I even said I’d be willing to pay just to get some actual help or to speak to the attorney himself, yet I still felt like my life and circumstances didn’t matter.\n\nI am not a criminal, nor do I want to be treated like one. I’m a full-time working mom and a military spouse, and even sharing that didn’t seem to make any difference in how I was treated.\n\nBecause of this, the very next day I paid $6k for a different attorney and told this office to turn over my documents. My divorce process has been going on for over a year. It is now time for me to move to a new state and it’s still not finished. I have been placed on the back burner 3 times and counting. I get a new email every time it gets close saying they have to reschedule me because he has something else to do. The only times I get any update is when I reach out to them to get one or when they cancel on me at the last minute. And of course I am charged for wanting to know what’s happening with my case.
