I realize that my case may have been overwhelming trying to close two estates at the same time but this firm was not organized at all. I could talk to five people and get five answers and when I talked with my attorney he always had some excuse as to why something wasn't being handled- at one point was told of the secretaries personal life problems as an excuse by my attorney. One of the three assistants he had while my case was open. I was offered to have a family member of his purchase something from the estate, which is a conflict of interest, and we did not pursue. I had to, on multiple occasions, return to the office to sign documents that had already been signed or 'were forgotten' while I was there. I called and emailed with no responses. I lost an estate home sale because the documents weren't submitted to the court after 3 months of waiting- I had to call the probate court myself to check on this. When we got a secondary buyer of that property the exact same thing happened again but because I called the probate court myself we caught it in time to get it corrected. I ended up talking with the probate court on more than one occasion to check status because I couldn't obtain that information from my attorney or was told that we were waiting for the courts approval when in fact the documents hadn't even been submitted. I asked twice if I needed to seek council elsewhere and was told that it would be handled properly from there on out but it was not. Again, I know my case was a little different but as you can imagine it was a very hard time in my life and all of these issues didn't help in the slightest. I'm more than grateful that it did finally get resolved and completed but it was NOT easy.
