Some friends and family told me that Casa Michoacán will be able to sit me down with someone to help me. I was introduced to Mr. Martinez at Casa Michoacán. We spoke for a bit and he told me that he will be able to help but I need to meet him at his office on 26th St. I felt a bit off because I thought that the service will be through Casa Michoacán. When I got to his office the next day it seemed like I walked in to a used car lot. He started talking at me instead of to me. He said that he will take a case for a low fee of $750. That is to start and can go higher if the case takes longer. After that statement he said, “Me charging you $750 doesn’t even pay my rent. It’s cheap and I don’t make any money off of this case. I don’t get paid by the government for this.” I am on a fixed income and thought that since he was with Casa Michoacán, it will be more affordable. At that point I said thank you for your time and walked out.
