Instead of receiving the guidance I desperately needed, most of my case was handled by an out-of-state paralegal, and the process dragged on for over a year.\n\nThe one time I spoke with Eric directly, he made a comment suggesting I “cut off” my 16-year-old son because his medical bills were too high. As a single mom with no second parent involved, I was devastated. I had no idea how I was supposed to simply stop supporting my child.
