Even though he did not set a page limit, it seemed clear that he had only skimmed the materials I sent, and the consultation felt more sales-driven. First, she narrowly engaged on only the ~20 page pre-read limit she imposes (not enough to capture most individual case documents) to then inform her advice. Despite being informed before the consultation that there was a lot of context that needed to be discussed outside those documents, she didn't seem at all interested in understanding the full picture to make more insightful strategic advice and instead jumped right into opining. She gave a generic recommendation on resolution approach that depended on multiple parties' discretion and was thus a nondeterministic path, but didn't offer any strategic advice for how to approach things (especially based on her prior case experience) if things didn't play out the way she was advising. Can be summarized in terms of 'lack of caring', which when contrasted against others' reviews makes me question how high of a bar she holds on her service relative to her biases/how she feels about a case. Lastly, her command on basic court facts lacking. She believed something to be impossible that in fact was possible and how I came prepared to the consultation (upon free advice from the legal assistant at another firm). Overall, it seems she made up her mind on the case before the consultation began and gave the bare minimum during it to collect her fee.
