I am unable to give client's the discovery under state law. I go over the reports and evidence with every client and he mentions seeing the reports in his review.  I stand by what I told him.  During my investigation one of the witnesses wanted to change the story that she told police on video.  I found it unconvincing and did explain to her that if true than her original story would be a false report to a police officer which would be a crime and yes could be prosecuted.  <br><br>I got his felony charge reduced to a misdemeanor, which I felt was a good deal.  As in all cases he had the choice of proceeding to trial or entering the plea.  He chose the plea.  I am always willing to argue to a jury that someone is not guilty something I have done over 160 times.  I never force anyone into taking a plea. If they do so it is there decision after seeing the evidence and my best legal advice after doing this for 22 years.  But is always there choice and I am always willing to stand in up and make an argument to a jury.  <br><br>In order to do a plea a person must fill out papers and be questioned by a judge to ensure the plea is feely and voluntarily made.  The judge in this case did that and both the Judge and I believed that this was his decision.  If either of us believed anything else we would have proceeded to trial.   <br><br>I think that this is a case of buyer's remorse.  I do wish my former client well.  I would also say that in this business dealing with serious matters is is impossible to make everyone happy.  Sometimes the easiest thing to do to blame the Attorney for their own actions or the difficulties of the justice system.
