Without breaching any confidences, we will say a few things.<br><br>With respect to your comments concerning the recovery and our decision not to pursue your case any further, sadly it is not always an option. Without comprehensive coverage sufficient to cover the loss or damage, we are limited in our ability to recover the full measure of your damages.  What I mean by that is - Florida is currently the only state that does not require Bodily Injury (BI) coverage for drivers allowing tens of thousands of drivers on the road to be underinsured besides the significant percentage of drivers on our roads with no insurance at all.<br><br>This means it is legal in Florida for anyone to drive a vehicle that has no Bodily Injury (BI) insurance. The minimal coverage required in our state provides NO compensation directly to an injured person for their injuries caused by an automobile accident. Further, for those that do possess BI coverage, there are no limitations required by the State of Florida, which means that many drivers are woefully underinsured. This is alarming and understandably frustrating for people to discover; especially if you were recently injured by a vehicle or suffered a loss by a vehicle that did not have comprehensive coverage. Unless the victim carries their own Uninsured (Underinsured) Motorist coverage they are left with little or no recourse.<br><br>We are terribly sorry for your loss and understand your frustration and anger as a grieving parent.
