I am the Britney that Jennifer Charles referred to in another review.\n\nAt the beginning of 2025, I was involved in a car accident when another driver ran a red light and totaled my vehicle. Jennifer had always been a source of trusted advice for me, so when she recommended John K. Zaid & Associates, I contacted them immediately instead of researching other attorneys.\n\nUnfortunately, what followed was an extremely frustrating experience.\n\nAfter signing with the firm, I was assigned to attorney Michael Caruso and a case manager named Samantha. Over the next several weeks, I attended chiropractic appointments, underwent MRIs, visited doctors, and received treatment for pain related to the accident. Despite all of this, I received virtually no communication from the firm. After more than six weeks without any updates, I had to repeatedly contact Samantha just to speak with my attorney.\n\nWhen I finally spoke with Michael approximately eight months after the accident, I asked for an update on my case and what type of compensation we were pursuing. Instead of providing clarification, he rudely told me that I “shouldn’t expect to get rich off this case.” I was not asking to get rich, I simply wanted to understand where my case stood and what to expect moving forward.\n\nA few weeks later, I discovered that my case had been transferred to another attorney, Eduardo Kosturakis. No one clearly explained why I was being reassigned. What was initially described as a process that would be wrapped up within a few weeks turned into another four to six months. Once again, communication became nearly nonexistent. I had to repeatedly call the firm just to obtain updates, and even then, it was difficult to speak directly with my attorney.\n\nAt one point, my case was pushed into litigation because I was dissatisfied with the lack of progress. The attorney who contacted me from the litigation department was unprofessional and questioned me about the accident in a manner that made me feel as though I was being accused of lying or somehow being at fault. Throughout the conversation, he repeatedly referred to me as “sweetheart,” which I found condescending and inappropriate.\n\nWhen the case finally settled, Eduardo called to inform me. I specifically asked that no medical expenses be finalized without first allowing me to review them. That request was ignored. Instead, I later received a call from accounting informing me that my settlement check was ready for pickup.\n\nI drove from Houston to their office near NASA and was greeted by a receptionist who asked whether I was picking up a check for my daughter. I found this interaction unprofessional and careless. When I reviewed the settlement paperwork, I discovered charges that I had not previously been given the opportunity to discuss, including approximately $200 for prescribed Aleve and around $180 for an Icy Hot cream that provided little to no relief. At that point, I needed the money and felt I had no real choice but to sign and accept the check.\n\nIn the end, I was left feeling disappointed and taken advantage of. My vehicle was totaled, I accumulated significant medical expenses, and I believe I received far less compensation than I deserved. Throughout the process, I dealt with multiple attorneys, numerous case managers, poor communication, constant delays, and a general feeling that I was inconveniencing the very people I had hired to help me.\n\nI will never use this firm again, and I hope John Zaid takes a closer look at how clients are being treated. Unfortunately, my most recent experience has been by far the most disappointing.\n\nThroughout this case, I personally worked with both Joe and John in the past, which is one reason this experience has been so frustrating. Over the course of this claim, I went through seven different case managers in about a year. Communication was inconsistent, updates were difficult to obtain, and I constantly felt like I was doing the work of tracking down information myself.\n\nThe demand phase alone lasted over seven months, only for me to feel like I received the bare minimum settlement possible. I was never pleased with the final outcome and felt completely let down by the process.\n\nKassif and Jacob were often dismissive, insensitive, and at times came across as sassy and unprofessional. Instead of feeling supported as a client, I frequently felt like I was inconveniencing them simply by asking for updates on my own case. There were numerous times I had to repeatedly call just to get basic information.\n\nOne of the most frustrating parts was being told that John would personally contact me regarding my concerns. That call never came. Even after expressing my disappointment, no meaningful effort was made to address it.\n\nTo make matters worse, I signed the required settlement paperwork, was provided with my distribution sheet, and was later told that the firm had already received the settlement check. Yet I am still waiting for my money till this day!!  and still do not have a clear answer as to when I will receive it. Instead of being proactively updated, I continue to find myself calling the firm for answers and reminders. At this point, I genuinely feel like I am doing their job for them.\n\nEvery time I call, I seem to receive a different answer. Most recently, I was told the check had been received but that they did not know when accounting would contact me, and if I did not hear anything, I should simply call back again next week. After everything I have been been through with this case, that response was unacceptable and extremely unprofessional.\n\nI also recommended my friend Britney to this firm because I trusted them based on my previous experiences. Unfortunately, after comparing our experiences, it was surprising how many of the same frustrations we shared. Both of us felt left in the dark, both of us struggled to get consistent communication, and both of us felt disappointed by the handling of our cases. Referring someone to a firm is a reflection of trust, and it was embarrassing and disappointing to discover that many of the concerns I experienced were similar to the concerns she experienced as well.\n\nAfter more than a decade of loyalty to this firm, I expected professionalism, communication, organization, and respect.
