It's unequivocally unethical. I worked with your mother and successfully obtained round the clock personal care aide services, supplies, case management for her at home while preserving her assets and monthly income - during a pandemic, no less! Although I tried to listen to you with sensitivity and respect, I simply could not draft a Will to remove another family member as a beneficiary unless your mother - my client - expressed that to me directly, privately and before two witnesses. I am sorry that you perceived this explanation as an attack or judgement of your motives. It was not. Regarding returning calls, we pride ourselves on returning calls within 24 hours, nearly without fail. However, ********, you are not our client - your mother was! Our ethical and professional obligations were to her. We understand that you were trying to assist your mother and facilitate legal services.
