He's a really polite guy but I feel pretty robbed considering I had to do half of his job for him. I got tricked into using him as my real estate attorney as well as probate, that was a mistake... I've made several really estate transactions in the past and it was frustrating to have literally 0 communication from Dan the ENTIRE time. In fact, I had to reach out to him about all the closing documents I never received from him (this was 3 days before closing and his office is over an hour away, closing date never changed either). He made me overnight all the documents back to him on my dime even though he dropped the ball.\nAs for probate, this is my first experience with probate so it's hard for me to say if this experience was acceptable or not. I do know that this was a VERY simple probate case, not sure it could have been any easier to handle from an administrative aspect.\nHe barely answered any of my questions, he would simply tell me to ask someone else (such as vehicle titles belonging to the deceased and tax return owed to the deceased). His dates on when the estate would be discharged were all messed up - again, I had to reach out and correct him and was given a run-around as to \"why\" he was almost a month off on his dates. And sure enough, it got discharged exactly when I said it would as opposed to his \"guess\".\nOverall I wish I would have looked into a better attorney. I got more answers from my own Googling than I did from my attorney that I paid thousands of dollars for. I had realized my mistake in picking Dan early on but was unfortunately didn't really have an option of getting out of the check he had cashed, especially since he had rendered services to an extent. Unfortunately, in this case in the end Ms. Kramer has a complaint of how the work that I performed was done.  Even worse I find out about it through social media not from her directly.  As I understand it there is no complaint that the probate estate closed in record time (six months and one week)(The actual closing of an Estate is determined by the Court and therefore cannot be exactly predicted as Ms. Kramer believed).  The shortest possible time is six months.  The real estate transaction closed in two weeks which is unheard of when most real estate transactions take between 30 to 60 days. (Overnight mail was a necessity to pull this closing off since it was such a short time frame).  It had nothing to do with my dropping the ball or making a mistake as Ms. Kramer states.<br>First to address what Ms. Kramer believes to be my inexperience. It is true that I am a polite, 27 year old attorney but not an inexperienced one.  I have been involved in various aspects of more than 40 different probate estates in four different counties.  Additionally, I have closed more than 60 real estate transactions.  As Ms. Kramer indicates she has never gone through probate before but yet she feels confident to draw a number of conclusions of how she thinks probate should have been completed. For instance, my referring her to an accountant or completing a transaction at the DMV was interpreted as me having her do my job.  I am not an accountant and Ms. Kramer needed to participate to make the transfer of the vehicle at the DMV.  I did my best to answer questions and provide explanations both in writing and verbally.<br>A few statements made by Ms. Kramer are just not true.  She states I had \"0\" communication with her.  This is not true I communicated both in writing and verbally.<br>I am not sure how I tricked Ms. Kramer into representing her in the real estate transaction.  I was given the real estate contract and did the legal work necessary to close the transaction for the Estate.  There was nothing tricky about that.<br>I assume the statement that she felt \"robbed\" refers to how much work Ms. Kramer felt she had to do and not me. When you are appointed as the Executor of an estate you have certain responsibilities that the attorney does not and cannot perform. It would seem difficult for Ms. Kramer to draw any of these conclusions since as she said she has never done this before. My hope is to educate a client during the process.  That apparently was not successful in this case.<br>My business is based on the service that I provide.  When a person provides a review that is wholly inaccurate I absolutely must set the record straight. Future clients will look at this to see if I am a competent attorney.  It is unfortunate that these statement can be made without any accountability. I told him that a dog breeder had breached our verbal agreement for a puppy and refused to refund my money. He charged me $300 to send her a letter and make a few phone calls to her, which did not succeed in getting a refund. Then he told me to forget about it, advising that I would lose the case if I sued her. He basically took her side and was demeaning to me for wanting to continue pursuing a refund. I filed a small claims case against her on my own and won. I got my full refund, plus all legal and filing fees back. Apparently Mr. Hood is unaware that when a business breaches their contract and is sued, they will be awarded their full refund plus legal fees. I think he just didn't want to be bothered with it. Every other statement is false.  He made an appointment to see me and canceled twice.  He appeared today unannounced and told me about his case and requested that I  represent him and send an e-mail on his behalf.  I told him that I would represent him but that he had to pay me for the representation.  Never did we discuss pro bono work on the telephone or at any other time. My working for free only came up today when he asked that I send an e-mail for him. We never discussed a fee since he wanted the work done for free.  I did not quote a fee of thousands of dollars nor did I justify my request for a fee by saying I had to pay for my electricity.                                  <br>                                                                                                                       <br>Our initial consultation is always free but work beyond the initial consultation is a fee that the client and I discuss before any work is performed and mutually agreed upon.  We never discussed a fee (certainly not thousands of dollars) since he demanded that I send an e-mail for free and that maybe he would give me additional business in the future if I did this for him.
