Time was of the essence for me and if they were too busy or it simply was not feasible for them to meet the timeline, that could have been said without charging a consultant fee. I was clear on needing to respond by a certain time that would have been an easy response upfront rather then having me pay a consultation fee thus it was not worth it. I called around and quickly go answers without paying a fee. I saw the other reviews about the fee and I thought  I would do it anyway. They could not tell me prior to paying a $200 consultation fee.  I sent documents and specific questions prior to the consultation.  The attorney did not know the answers to my questions and apparently did not review my documents because he didn't know what was in them.  After 20 minutes of rambling about things I didn't care about, he told me he is more of a litigation attorney and not really what I need, but he will let me retain him to write a letter on my behalf at a whooping cost of $1,750!  He should have looked at my questions and documents  prior to the call and told me right away that he's not the right guy for me - and not charge a consultation fee for not knowing the answers to my questions. In most legal situations, there are no “simple” answers, and the time involved for appropriate analysis will certainly take more than “5 minutes.”<br><br>Many times, a potential client may not know exactly what is needed or what is in their best interests in a given situation.  Before our attorneys can advise what it would cost for certain services someone may request, first the attorney needs to assess whether or not the services requested are appropriate.  To do otherwise would be irresponsible.  It is essential that the person’s legal position be fully analyzed to be able to determine legal options in that situation.
