My firm's legal fees are not base on the fine. When you plead not guilty, there is no fine payment until you accept the state's offer or lose at trial. Even then, you have a period to appeal, and you still wouldn't have a fine due until you lose the appeal. The attorney fee you were quoted is a flat fee that covers our attorneys travel time to whatever court in the state of CT that your ticket will go to if a hearing is necessary. It covers the attorney's court time, so you have the convenience of going to work or school and not waiting with the hundreds of other people in traffic court. It covers Brandy and the paralegals that process your online ticket review, request the police report, DMV reports, body camera/ dash camera, calibrated laser or radar reports. It also covers the attorney's review of all that information and presenting a defense to the state's attorney on your behalf to possibly get your case dismissed.
