For a very simple LLC formation that doesn't involve complex shareholder structures, we typically charge around $2500 but the deposit required upfront is $1000. We've never told anyone and won't tell anyone that forming an LLC cost $1000. When we sent our clients the retainer agreement, the $1000 was the deposit as it stated. Our time spent on each case, including meetings, research, phone calls, and emails are all billable hours and we charge in minimum 0.1 unit of hours, i.e. 6 minutes.
