However, there was no professionalism or courtesy exercised by the settlement agent (to the buyer). He rushed the signing of the paperwork and did not communicate concerning the completion of the closing, after the disgruntled, entitled buyers threatened not to close, despite having signed the paperwork before I (the seller did) and despite all legally required items remaining in and with the home. The attorney's written response to my agent inquiring about completion of all closing steps (or in the alternative payment of the earnest money to me due to the broken contract), were snarky and condescending as well. I truly believe race placed a role.
