I was charged a $5,000 retainer in 2019, was never represented in court because she said I didn’t make enough for her to file, yet I was still making payments and filled the retainer. Aside from wrongfully getting my daughter taken from me and given to my abusive, pill addicted ex, I was humiliated when the day of court came. Ms. Phillips did not file on my behalf, despite me paying for the retainer. I felt taken advantage of and still am struggling to see my daughter. I’ve worked as a paralegal and know the amount of work that is put into building cases. There’s no reason, especially when I was willing to scrape every penny I have, that she shouldn’t have at least filed what I payed for. But to show up in court, not file and then tell me that I don’t make enough is crazy. Ms. Vogel has worked extremely hard on your case. You were happy with our work up to the day we quoted you the cost of going to trial.  That is where the relationship went wrong.  People are ot aware that going to trial is an \"extreme\" task for an attorney.  It takes hundreds of hours of preparation, thousands of pages of evidence, documents, and notes all organized and duplicated to give to the judge and the other attorney. When an attorney goes to trial they put in a minimum of a 100 hour week before the trial.  You had one of the best attorneys in town, Jeana Vogel.  We are sorry you are unhappy and wish things had happened differently.
