Amerio Law, Ashley Injury Lawyers, whatever they are calling themselves these days are the epitome of why attorneys are so disliked. They agreed to take my personal injury case on contingency 3½ years ago even though they were probably not qualified to handle what essentially was a medical malpractice case. My guess is they were hurting for revenue during the height of Covid. I am not even sure they had an attorney to work the case until last year. They puttered around and kept me in the dark for the most part and suddenly called me and said as a matter of previously overlooked housekeeping chores, my wife and I needed to sign electronic substitution of attorney forms and we trustingly did so. The very next day, I received another call telling me they were dropping the case for business reasons. I now know that having us sign the substitution of attorney forms under false pretense was so they would not have to go back and explain to The Court why they were dropping the case. Basically, they made it look like we fired them! To add insult to injury, they quickly filed a lien against any future settlement proceeds making it virtually impossible to find another attorney to accept the case. I then got a phone call stating they were withdrawing as my attorney and there would be an attorney lien on my claim. They made me do all the footwork and then they with draw and still want to be paid? WOW!!! If you’re ever in a crash or anything else… never call this firm. Read all the yelp and reviews on how horrible they are. Wish I would have.
